I've been on the look-out for a new mineral makeup that might agree with my skin more since I heard that some other girls who have used Everyday Minerals had better luck with other brands.

I was lucky enough to come across Alima Pure mineral makeup which is an amazing brand! They are only one of two 100% certified all-natural cosmetics companies in the U.S.! I'm ordering some foundation samples from them tonight. They have great reviews on MUA and I also love the fact that they are located in Oregon (hello, fast shipping to CA!)

Right now they are having an awesome V-Day makeup giveaway! Check it out here.

OH I forgot to post my email address in case I win-- ninth.muse(AT)gmail(DOT)com

PS: Sorry I haven't been around LJ much lately! I'll try to update more regularly. There is actually some pretty interesting stuff going on in my life for once.

Is anyone good at IDing random pieces of clothing? Or does anyone know of an LJ community or other website where people can get help with that kind of thing?

I've been trying to track down this tuxedo-style blazer worn by Kristen Stewart for weeks without any luck. I found one by Rag & Bone in black/white that is very similar, but they don't have it in this color/fabric as far as I can tell so I'm not sure if it's really by them. I don't need this exact one, but I love the longer, rounded shape of the lapels and that cut seems to be really hard to find!

More very HQ pics here.

Anyway, if anyone can ID this or has any idea where I could find something similar, OR knows of somewhere that I could post this and get some help, I'd really appreciate it!

I think I've caught the fashion bug again... trolling eBay for cute vintage clothes was at the top of my anti-studying activities list during these past few weeks of finals. That and looking up names for my future children. haha. Speaking of, I'm officially on winter break as of today! Yay! :)

New style of headband at my Etsy shop! Modeled after the white double-rose headband Blair was wearing in last night's Season 2 premiere episode =D

I really love this one! It's one I can actually see myself wearing casually (I'm a little shy about wearing the big huge bow on everyday occasions).

Hey guys! I just entered the Obama campaign's t-shirt contest! Please vote for my design at TeesByThePeople.com! Right now it's under most recent. Look for my name - Aryana.

I wish I had entered earlier! I saw that the rules said it ends on the 31st, but it also says the winner will be notified then. Umm that's kind of dumb considering people will still be entering on the 31st and won't have time to catch up with votes!

So please vote for mine ... if you like it :)

It's a modified version of this project I did for my typography class which was the White House made entirely out of type. So it's the White House, its windows and reflection made completely from type. The reflection is some of the text from the "Yes We Can" speech :)

Another Twilight icons post. Got a little carried away with the new promo picture that I saw here. But does anyone else think it's WAY over photoshopped? lol.

Again, lots of variations on the same styles.

I have to kill time right now waiting to pick up Milo from being neutered (I hope he's ok!), so I thought why not make some TWILIGHT icons! This is a really big batch for me, but most are variations on the same style - sorry if that's annoying, I am just hopelessly indecisive.

Hope you like them :)

Tristan Prettyman's new album is AMAZING. It just came out, but I heard a preview of it online earlier. You can still access the preview of her album here, through her page on Virgin Records.

I LOVE this album! It is even better than her last, twenty three. If you haven't heard of her, you MUST listen to her music! It's so gorgeous. She's recently had songs featured on The Hills and I'm so excited that she is getting more recognition. She really deserves it.

One of the best songs on the album, Madly, is FREE SINGLE OF THE WEEK right now on iTunes! Go get it!! The whole album itself is 12 songs and is only $5.99. I am gonna buy it even though I already have most of the songs individually downloaded from her previews (hey, I couldn't wait!)

My favorites are Hello, Madly, War Out of Peace, and Don't Work Yourself Up.

ETA: Her album is #2 on iTunes today, right behind Mariah Carey! Awesome! :D

Speaking of Mariah, I haven't watched American Idol in years, but I saw David Cook's performance of Always Be My Baby - amazing!

Tell me a secret - anonymously!

For my next project in photography, I have to make a short (~1 minute) film using only photos I take. Sort of like a stop-motion movie.

But specifically, I have to:
Choose to reveal (or to leave ambiguous) a secret. Whose secret will you reveal. One about yourself or one someone asked you to keep.

I am totally stumped. I still don't have a concept and it's due in two weeks! Usually the concept is left up to us, but not this time. I don't really have any secrets. My aunt recently revealed that she was pregnant, but I don't think that is too interesting. I have been looking for ideas at postsecret and am not having much luck with that either.

So I thought I would ask my lovely LJ friends to tell me a secret! Please leave a secret - either about yourself or someone else, or even a made up or found secret - in the comments. Even just ideas/suggestions for the project would be great. Just post as anonymous - all comments are screened!

Please please please! Thanks :)

Oh, and Happy Halloween!!!

ETA: A treat relevant to this post: What is Your Secret, by Nada Surf (mp3) -- GREAT song!

New layout! Yay, I am really pleased with it :) Featuring Ashley & Spencer from South of Nowhere.

Using CSS overrides from [info]thefulcrum (the newest layout), with some minor tweaking. Also used some textures from Carton.

I was bored in graphic design class this morning so this is just what I did. haha. Then I realized that this other template, the one I was using before, would have been so much easier to edit because it was already pretty much set up like this. haha. Oh well!

This is actually a replication of a theme that I have been meaning to get up officially on my domain, but I have been putting off working out the tweaks. But that will be up soon too. I wanted at least one theme that shows the full blog entries in a more normal format than the current layouts.

Also, I just watched The Science of Sleep again last night since I was bored. *sigh* I love that movie :)

Ok, so I am a really big fan of cheesecake! I haven't had it in the longest time though. My mom and I used to make it, following the recipes on the cream-cheese boxes. I think I really need to make some before I need to go back to school in a few weeks!

I found this really cool website, 91 Cheesecake Recipes. I read about some of their recipes on another blog. They even have quick, no-bake recipes, so I could possibly even have cheesecake in the dorms! hehe.

Anyway, if you love cheesecake too, you can get free access to their recipes just by spreading the word about their site through your blog, as I'm doing. Can't wait to try my hand at one of the quick, easy recipes. YUMMM!

So, this journal has become pretty much friend-locked. It wasn't really intended, I just guess I feel comfortable making almost all of my entries f-locked now. Anyway, I'm not picky about who I add, just add me & comment here to be added back :)

I'm very active on this journal since I've become rather obsessed with LJ and abandoned my domains once again for the time being... heh. I really should work on those since I got a new one and a new hosting plan and all!

1/17/2007 - Note to community mods:
If this is the latest post you are seeing, it is because this is my most recent public post. Since this post, my journal has been friends-locked. I am still extremely active on LJ, posting at least several times a week. Please don't delete me from your communities because this appears to be my latest post. It's not! Just friend this journal with your mod username and I can friend you back so you can see that my journal is still very active. Thanks!

Tonight is the Rory/Jess episode of Gilmore Girls!!!! But I'll probably miss all, or at least part of it, because of my stupid color class. Hmmph. Maybe I can leave early today. Usually if it's a day where we just start a project you can leave early, without missing on anything but studio time. I'm guessing today might be one of those days because it's the first day back from spring break.

There's not anything like BitTorrent for Macs, is there? hee.

I think the painting of my mom that I'm doing in 2D Concepts is gonna turn out well. My teacher & my friends in that class like it so far. This one girl I'm friends with liked it a lot which was cool because her painting is of her boyfriend and it's CRAZY good.

Now I have to go to dinner. Looks like they're having burritos, yay. Better than the freaking PANCAKES they served one night when someone must have been on crack *_*

From [info]calixa:

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open it to page 161.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with these instructions.
5. Don't search around and look for the coolest book you can find. Do what's actually next to you.

His black glossy queue, tied at the bottom with a narrow piece of black silk, hung over his shoulder and moved rhythmically against his chest.

Haha, that sounds like p0rn. Actually it's East of Eden by John Steinbeck. I haven't read that yet, this book is actually my brother's.

I think I may finally finish reading Balzac & the Little Chinese Seamstress. I got it like 2 summers ago but would always have to start over from the beginning because I would go so long without reading it. Now I'm even more busy but I do have at least 30 minutes a day that I can read -- on the bus :)

Today is my first day of Spring Break. It's 2PM and I just woke up. Ugggh. I am annoyed by this. Why didn't anyone wake me up?!?!?!
